JointWorks Program
JointWorks: a comprehensive continuum of care. We are constantly looking for new and better ways to serve our patients. That’s why we offer JointWorks – a unique program for hip and knee replacement that guides patients from initial consult through surgery and recovery. The entire JointWorks program is designed to help prevent complications and optimize surgical outcomes, and has been an extraordinary addition for our patients since its inception.
- Learn how to prepare for your surgery.
- Discuss your plan of care while in the hospital.
- Find out what to expect as you recover at home after your surgery.
JointWorks is patient education that will help prepare you for what to expect from your orthopaedic surgery and answer some common questions. Your physician may have specific or preferred instructions for your unique condition. You must follow the care guidelines and information provided by your care team.
Positive Outcomes with JointWorks
JointWorks education allows you to understand your procedure and know what to expect pre-surgery, post-surgery, and during recovery at home. The JointWorks program helps to answer questions regarding your procedure, pain management, and what is normal during recovery. Patients who prepare for their procedures by going through the education are less likely to have complications of:
- Infection
- Blood clots
- Pulmonary embolisms
- Emergency room visits after surgery
- Readmissions after surgery
