Senior Emergency Care

To meet the distinct needs of older patients, Covenant has created the Great Lakes Bay Region’s only Senior Emergency Care Center. This center was the first in the region to be named an Accredited Geriatric Emergency Department by the American College of Emergency Physicians. The accreditation recognizes our expertise, personnel, and equipment that help us improve patient outcomes and facilitate a quicker transition back to daily life.

To provide seniors with care tailored to their needs and comfort, our center is staffed with doctors and nurses who possess specialized expertise and experience in senior care. Our emergency doctors show seniors the respect and compassion they need in such a stressful time.

Our senior-friendly rooms include special amenities like larger-print signs and clocks, more comfortable chairs, walkers, hearing devices, and reading glasses. Social work support with individual assessments and goals helps maximize seniors’ independence, while all medications are closely monitored to avoid harmful interactions.
